The sayings ‘Instagram-worthy’ and ‘Instagrammable’ are everywhere nowadays, and it’s something you hear even more so in the events industry – everyone wants to hold an event in a venue that’s going to make their photos pop and get them the most likes on the ‘gram’! Instagram now has more than 1 billion monthly active users… that’s more than three times the monthly active users of Twitter! Worldwide, 500 million Instagram users are active every single day (source: websitehostingrating.com).
Instagram is a visual social media platform allowing users to share photos and videos, either in real-time on their stories or posting to their feed. The Elan Cafes have fast become an iconic destination in London and when it comes to decor, they don’t hold back. I wouldn’t be surprised if images of the cafes came up when you google ‘Instagram-worthy’, so this had to be the top of my list! There are now 6 branches in London that all offer exclusive venue hire – they’re the perfect venue for product launches or photo shoots.
This space offers a chic, art-deco setting for any event, and your Instagram posts of course! Recently opened within Selfridges, the centrepiece of the restaurant is the 24ft crystal encrusted Pegasus statue created especially by Damien Hirst… need I say more?! Founded by Caprice Holdings, it’s safe to say you’re in for an eclectic and elegant experience if you visit.
This tropical hideaway bar and restaurant on Aldwych is owned by none other than the renowned actor and producer, Idris Elba. The space is intimate, holding up to 60 guests, and you can enjoy delicious small plates whilst sipping on tropical themed cocktails served in an array of uniquely shaped glass wear – perfect for Instagram!
Yes, the one with THAT ceiling! The stunning 9 canvas paintings adorning the ceiling of the Main Hall were commissioned by James I’s son, Charles I, and were installed in 1636, coming down only once during World War 2. This venue is perfect for high-end events such as gala dinners and the ceiling offers a photo op with a difference!
What’s better than a secret garden in the middle of the City?! The South Place Hotel is a luxury hotel in the heart of London, and one of my favourite spaces here is the Secret Garden. The space has been transformed into an enchanted garden, serving Martin Miller’s gin botanicals throughout Spring. With hundreds of flowers hanging from the ceiling and bright décor it really does offer the perfect backdrop for your Insta photos!
This is the ultimate destination for all of you girly girls out there! Tonight Josephine offers a pink backdrop for your Insta snaps and is the perfect spot for product launches or networking drinks for an all-female guestlist, (boys are allowed too don’t worry!). The Waterloo venue has the infamous ‘Well behaved women don’t make history’ sign and there’s now a brand new Shoreditch venue to explore! If your Instagram feed is all about girl-power, this is the venue for you.
Located in the Grade II listed Market Building, the new Covent Garden restaurant has a very different aesthetic to the original in Liverpool Street, with many photo opportunities. The bar and restaurant has a ceiling installation to rival all ceiling installations… it is a ‘live’ feature with South American and Japanese plants, to match the cuisines in their menu. This venue can be privately hired for events and also features a private dining room and terrace.
A five-star hotel with an array of restaurants, private event spaces, and even a member’s club! This luxury hotel opened its doors in May last year and allows guests to experience a little bit of New York, in Shoreditch. With a rooftop bar and pool, and a screening room to name a few, your spoilt for choice when choosing which Instagram-worthy space to use for your next event!
A bar that’s true to its name, there’s no other like it! The vibrant bar reflects an exquisite country house which has been transported to the City and offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of its central location. The Coral Room bar, located in the Bloomsbury Hotel, offers a vibrant backdrop and lots of quirky touches for your social posts!
This stylish retreat in the heat of Chelsea offers modern, understated luxury and world-class restaurants. It’s quirky design details and beautiful garden give it it’s ‘Instagrammable’ stamp and it has spaces available for private hire, as well as a private dining room for smaller events.
