Rooftop venues – what’s not to love?! I adore London and savour it through every season. Whatever the time of year, is there anything better than our beautiful capital viewed from up high? I always get a thrill of excitement as I enjoy the stunning cityscape from a high-altitude rooftop venue – admiring the views, sipping a cocktail and sampling delicious food. Read on to find out my top picks for London rooftop venues – and trust me, I’ve experienced a lot of them!

London’s newest luxury dining and drinking experience, atop a stunning 1920’s building in the heart of the City. A luxurious and sophisticated venue choice for your event, featuring a fine dining restaurant with two private terraces, an elegant rooftop terrace and bar with 360° degree views of London, and an exclusive private dining room in the cupola crowning the building.

When picking this year’s favourite rooftop spots, Sabine Rooftop Bar has to be my number one! Since opening in May 2021, it’s been popular with City workers, tourists, event bookers, and of course…influencers! With unrivalled views of St Paul’s (you literally can’t get much closer!) and breathtaking vistas of the London skyline, including The Shard. Next, we’re heading from the City to South London. Skylight Peckham boasts beautiful event spaces under big skies, an excellent option for private events hire for up to 250 guests or smaller parties from 30 to 150 attendees. After opening in 2021, the venue has launched BBQ menus, drag brunches, and more! Also, see their sister venue in East London – Skylight Tobacco Dock

Now back to the City and one of the original favourites – Madison. On the top floor of One New Change with an infamous panorama of St Paul’s. If you haven’t been in person, you will have seen the photos. It is renowned for its social atmosphere with DJs and live music during the summer months. Various spaces are available for semi-private hire, depending on your event requirements and guest numbers.

The ultimate pick for team socials, informal gatherings and simple drinks with colleagues and friends has to be Bar Elba. Based in Waterloo, this super fun elevated bar promises excellent ambience and some tremendous boozy drinks packages and themed brunches over the weekend. Another great option in the City is Aviary. A rooftop restaurant and bar at the summit of Montcalm Royal London House. It was freshly renovated in April 2022 and offers magnificent aspects, yummy cocktails, and seasonal dishes in a luxury setting. This venue is consistently popular with clients hosting daytime events at the Montcalm RLH or nearby venues looking for an alternate setting for their evening event.

Concluding my list is a sky-high classic – Sushi Samba, a celebration of Japan, Brazil, and Peru’s culture and cuisine. Located on the 38^th and 39^th floors of the tower at 110 Bishopsgate, with London’s highest outdoor dining terrace. A firm favourite with Londoners, Sushi Samba is an ideal setting for small or large events. The opportunities are endless, with private dining, sushi classes, exclusive parties, sake tasting, and more possibilities.
